CATIA V5 Data Management on the 3DExperience Platform
Seamless integration between CATIA V5 and ENOVIA unlocks all of the benefits of V6-generation Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) without the need to migrate your CAD data from CATIA V5. By implementing ENOVIA V6 to manage your CATIA V5-based design activities you can access and control your data globally. Users can be geographically dispersed or co-located, either way they can work on the same data set without the risk of over-writing each-other’s work. They can also instantly access the latest data as soon as it becomes available, thereby improving quality and maximizing productivity.
The ENOVIA V6 centralised infrastructure also allows for improved BOM generation and management. BOMs can be generated automatically from CATIA V5 assembly structures stored in the database and non-design elements (e.g. fluids, adhesives etc.) can be added, all via a standard web browser.
ENOVIA V6 also provides a platform where digital mock-up processes can be performed, facilitating 3D product validation in a browser-based viewer (i.e. without CATIA installed) or in other V6 family products. The V6 digital reviews make use of the native CATIA V5 data whilst enabling efficient and convenient measuring, sectioning and clash detection operations.
ENOVIA V6 enables comprehensive CATIA V5 product data management capabilities through native CATIA V5 dialogues (from V5 Release 19) and additional functions accessed via the ENOVIA V6 web-based interface. Taken together, these functions add up to a powerful and convenient management tool covering all aspects of product development with CATIA V5, and build a firm foundation for future CATIA V6 adoption.
